Lake Mille Lacs is a basically round shape that is distinctly different from the other large MN lakes. The Rum River is the only outlet.
Mille Lacs has a concrete public access site owned and maintained by the state (DNR), and two earthen public access areas, one county and one township.

The camping sites have seasonal showers, a couple of restroom buildings with a mix of flush toilets and vault toilets, and a seasonal dump station for those with RVs.
